Remit
BBT will:
- Deliver the Institute's KT remit and generate financial returns for the Institute to support its research objectives;
- Promote and lead partnerships to nurture bioscience innovation to establish a reputation for successfully translating good science into good business opportunities through partnerships for wealth creation
- Bring together all the elements to support innovation and enable the successful exploitation of research in the biomedical sector based on technologies emanating from the Babraham Institute and relocating to the Babraham Research Campus as new and early stage bioventures;
- The Babraham Research Campus as part of the UK Science Base contributes to the wealth creation, quality of life and public understanding of science objectives of Government by creating the UK's leading knowledge-driven campus where world-class research and business come together. As such it will become the premier location for entrepreneurs to establish new bioventures, by
- promoting Intellectual Capital embedded in an infrastructure provided by the Babraham Research Campus
- providing full business, scientific and technical mentoring to help ensure the success of biotechnology start-up companies, through the Babraham Bioincubator
- promoting investment in the life sciences to generate and sustain growth of the region's healthcare economy
