The village of Sawston is only a few minutes‚ drive from the Institute. Here you can find a sports centre, banks, shops, post office, health centre and dental practice. The George Pub, on Babraham High Street, has an excellent atmosphere, with food served at lunchtime and in the evenings.
Schools in the immediate locality include Babraham C of E Primary School, Sawston Village College (ages 11-16) and Linton Village College (11-16). Cambridge city centre is within 15 minutes' drive of the Institute.
